The Valley Junior High Patriot football team traveled to Hart this past Thursday to take on the Longhorns in a district football game. The game turned out to be quite a shootout, with Valley ultimately coming out on top by a 39-38 score. Adrian Espinoza carried the bulk of the offensive load with well over 100 yards rushing and 4 TDs along with one extra point conversion. Ky Noland also added two rushing touchdowns for the Patriots. Germain Mendoza and Trey Smith both had receptions on two critical extra point conversions, which turned out to be the difference in the game. Zack Stumbo did a nice job from his quaterback position running the offense, and came up big on the defensive side of the ball with several tackles and a couple of sacks. Ky Noland and Jack Price were also very active on the defensive front for the Patriots. During the halftime scrimmage, Hunter Rigdon had two long touchdown runs to lead that squad to a victory also.
These guys will travel to Wichita Falls this Thursday to take on Wichita Falls Christian. Game time will be 5:30.
