The Valley Patriots traveled to Paducah this past Thursday to begin what they hope will be a very successful playoff run. The game opened up with the two teams swapping early touchdowns, but the Dragons would not find the end zone again, as Valley posted a 56-6 win. Wesley Rigdon and Kameron Buchanan had two touchdowns each to lead the scoring for the Patriots. Talyn Pointer, Jose Valdez, and Carson Proctor also added touchdowns for the Patriots. Valdez was also 6 for 7 on extra point kicks for Valley.
Defensively, Valley was all over the field delivering big hits, as they would dominate the Dragons for most of the evening. Jose Valdez and Ricky Mendoza led the defense with 10 tackles each. Talyn Pointer also had a good night with 8 stops.
The win propels Valley to the next round, where they will face the Ropes Eagles. The game is scheduled for 7:30 Friday evening in Petersburg.
