JV Boys remain Undefeated---Updated Weekly

Week of January 23-28, 2012

The Valley JV split this week for their two regular games and then came back together to win the Valley JV Tournament. It was their 3rd tournament championship of the season.


On Tuesday, the Patriots took on Patton Springs and came away with a 48-14 victory. Scoring for the Patriots were: James Castillo 16 pts., Tyler Campbell 12 pts., Gustavo Santos 10 pts,. and Brian Meyers 9 pts.


On Friday, the Patriots took on Motley Co. and again came out on top with the final score being 45-23. Scoring for the Patriots were: Gustavo Alanis 18 pts., Barrett Bland 11pts., Shawn Williams 7 pts., Dustin Crump 5 pts., and Lane Barclay 4 pts.
On Saturday, Valley opened the JV tournament with Ralls and ran away to a 47-16 victory with great defense. Scoring for the Patriots were: Gustavo Alanis 13 pts., Dustin Crump 8 pts.,  Barrett Bland 7 pts., James Castillo 4 pts., Gustavo Santos, Tyler Campbell, and Shawn Williams 3pts., Lane Barclay, Codie Selby, Brian Meyers 2pts.
In the finals the Patriots faced a scrappy bunch from Claude. They Patriots came away victorious with a 46-24 win. Scoring for the Patriots were: Gustavo Alanis 11 pts., Lane Barclay 10 pts., Dustin Crump 8 pts., Shawn Williams 7 pts., Gustavo Santos and Tyler Campbell 3 pts., and James Castillo and Ian Farley 2pts.
 

Valley JV season record is 18-0

 

Jan. 21, 2012-----Valley JV Patriots
Valley played a hard fought game on Tuesday against Crowell. The Patriots came out on top 47-42. Scoring for the Patriots were: Shawn Williams, Lane Barclay, and Barrett Bland 10 pts., Gustavo Alanis 7 pts., Dustin Crump and James Castillo 3 pts., Gustavo Santos and Tyler Campbell 2 pts.
The Patriots went to the Aspermont JV tournament on Friday and Sat. and performed extremely well, coming away with 4 victories on the weekend.
On Friday the Patriots opened the tournament with a 57-20 win against the Ira Bulldogs. The Patriots started early and jumped out to a 41-16 halftime lead and played great second half defense giving up 4 total points to come away with a nice win. Scoring for the Patriots were:  Gustavo Alanis 13 pts., Shawn Williams 12 pts., Barrett Bland 10 pts., Dustin Crump 6 pts., James Castillo, Gustavo Santos, Tyler Campbell, Codie Selby, and Cory Williams 2pts.
In the second game on Friday the Patriots jumped on the Cowboys of Woodson 27-7 in the 1st period and cruised to a 57-31 victory. Scoring for the Patriots were: Barrett Bland 13 pts., Tyler Campbell, Dustin Crump, and Shawn Williams 8 pts., James Castillo 7 pts., Gustavo Alanis 6 pts., Gustavo Santos, Lane Barclay, Brian Meyers 2 pts., and Cory Williams 1 pt.
On Saturday, the Patriots came away with a hard fought victory against the Trockmorton Greyhounds. Gustavo Alanis played an excellent defensive game against a 6’5” forward from Throck. The entire team played their best defensive basketball as a group on Sat. leading the Patriots to a 31-28 victory. Scoring for the Patriots were: Shawn Williams 8 pts., Barrett Bland 6 pts., Lane Barclay 5 pts., James Castillo, Gustavo Santos and Gustavo Alanis 4 pts.
In the finals on Sat., the Patriots once again played great defense and pulled out a 35-30 victory over the Abilene Hawks. Scoring for the Patriots were: Barrett Bland 10 pts., Lane Barclay 8 pts., Gustavo Alanis and Shawn Williams 6 pts., Gustavo Santos 3 pts, and James Castillo 2 pts.
The Patriot JV remains undefeated on the season with an overall record of 14-0 on the season.   
 

The Valley JV boys Started slow but busted open the game with Guthrie in the Second half. 

The win kept the Patriots undefeated on the year at 5-0. 

Scoring for the Patriots were: Gustavo Alanis 10, Dustin Crump 7, Tyler Campbell 6, Barrett Bland and Lane Barclay 5, Gustavo Santos and Shawn Williams 4, Codie Selby and Walker Carson 2. Next for the JV Patriots is at home vs. Jayton on Tues and at Spur on Friday and Saturday.
