VALLEY JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS WIN DISTRICT TOURNEY

The district 6A junior high basketball tournament was held this past weekend in Guthrie, and the Valley girl's team won the championship. Valley went into the tournament as the no. 1 seed, therefore they got a bye in the first round. Second round action saw Valley take on Jayton. Valley came out on top in that one by a 29-15 score. Emily Barrett led the way with 10 points. Others scoring were Jacee Crump-6, Kennadee Buchanan-5, Francisca Alanis-4, Savannah Young-2, and Amy Scott with 2 points.
The championship game had Valley facing Paducah. Valley once again came out on top by a 31-23 count. Emily Barrett led the way with 11 points, and Kennadee Buchanan followed closely with 10, including 2 big 3-pointers. Others scoring were Savannah Young-3, Jolee Hill-2, Francisca Alanis-2, and Jacee Crump with 2 points. Great job girls on your district championship, and a great season!
