VALLEY PATRIOTS ARE DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!

VALLEY PATRIOTS ARE DISTRICT CHAMPS!!

The Valley Patriots finished off their 2015 district schedule with an undefeated record with a convincing 57-8 win at Lorenzo last Friday evening. The Patriots raced to a 44-0 first quarter lead, on their way to the win. The game ended at half due to the 45 point mercy rule. With the win, the Patriots wrapped up another district championship.
The Hornets had no answer for the potent Valley rushing attack. Valley had 3 different runners find the end zone. Ashton Barclay had 5 carries for 77 yards and 2 TDs, Juan Villarreal had 3 carries for 76 yards and 2 TDs, and Adrian Espinoza added 3 carries for 25 yards and 2 TDs. Dax Allen chipped in 3 carries for 41 yards. Patriot quarterback Zack Stumbo only had to throw the ball twice on the evening, and one of those passes was a 9 yard scoring strike to Jake Merrell.
The Patriot defense was equally impressive, holding the Hornets out of the end zone for most of the evening, and scoring  a touchdown when junior linebacker Adrian Espinoza forced a fumble and recovered it in the end zone.
The Patriots will begin their playoff run this Thursday evening in Lockney, Tx, when they face the Nazareth Swifts in bi-district action. The game will begin at 6 pm, and is the first of a double header that will also feature Happy vs Spur. We need to fill up our side of the stands with red, white, and blue and cheer our boys on to a big bi-district win! GO BLUE!
